  • Job Summary

    Responsible for servicing, maintaining, and troubleshooting residential and commercial pool systems to ensure safe, clean, and properly functioning pools. This role includes routine maintenance, equipment inspections, water testing and balancing, minor repairs, and clear communication with customers and internal teams. The Pool Service Technician works closely with the Pool Service Manager to complete scheduled service calls efficiently, safely, and to the highest quality standards.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Pool Maintenance & Water Care

      • Perform routine pool maintenance including skimming, vacuuming, brushing, emptying baskets, and inspecting pool surfaces.

      • Test pool water and adjust chemical levels (chlorine, pH, alkalinity, stabilizer, etc.) according to best practices and product label requirements.

      • Maintain accurate service logs and chemical usage records for each customer account.

      • Provide guidance to customers on basic pool care and best practices as needed.

    • Equipment Inspection, Troubleshooting & Repairs

      • Inspect pool equipment including pumps, filters, heaters, automation systems, lights, salt systems, and plumbing components.

      • Diagnose common pool issues such as low flow, cloudy water, leaks, equipment alarms, and circulation problems.

      • Complete minor repairs and component replacements (ex: baskets, seals, o-rings, pressure gauges, valves, fittings) when authorized.

      • Communicate repair needs, parts requirements, and recommended next steps to the Pool Service Manager.

      • Coordinate with installation/construction teams when service issues relate to new installs or warranty items.

    • Seasonal Services (Opening/Closing)

      • Assist with pool openings: remove covers, reinstall equipment, prime systems, start circulation, and balance water chemistry.

      • Assist with pool closings: winterize plumbing, blow out lines, add winter chemicals, remove/store equipment as needed, and install covers.

      • Ensure seasonal procedures are completed to company standards to prevent freeze damage and protect customer property.

    • Daily Operations & Scheduling Support

      • Review daily service schedules and ensure tools, parts, and chemicals are properly stocked before leaving the shop.

      • Maintain accurate records of work completed, materials used, and time spent on tasks.

      • Communicate job status updates, customer notes, and any concerns to the Pool Service Manager.

      • Support schedule adjustments based on weather, priority calls, and equipment availability.
